Austermann Peru for Joan

This photo is for Joan who is looking for some Austermann Peru yarn to finish off her Luna Moth shawl. I thought I had 5 different colors, but ended up finding 6 colors from 3 different boxes. Don't ask. I don't have a good yarn filing system. Very disorganized. I intend to get organized (yarn and everything else in the house) when we move into our new house. Yeah, that's the plan. ;-)

Anyhowz, I know it's hard to get a feel for the colors in the photo above as this is yet another of my ubiquitous crepuscular nocturnal shots. There are 3 blues, 1 green, and 1 grey. I could have sworn I had 8 of the grey, but I only saw 4 balls. Not sure where the other 4 went. Given away? In some other box? Of the green, I have less than 8 balls (sorry, I didn't really count them, I just noticed that there weren't 8... I think it was 6 balls), then I later recalled that I had used some for Sue's Chemo Cap. It was such a long time ago that I forgot that I had played with Peru.

And no, my not being able to keep track of my stash does not mean I have too much stash!!! Although I might have a very slight propensity to being OCD...

Ok, now that I've dug out the Austermann, I still need to go dig out the Debbie Bliss to take a closer look at what colors I have. Maybe I'll pick one for the Elann Shawl KAL...

I've been so out of it today. I kept thinking it was Monday and that I had to move the garbage cans out to the curb (because Tuesday is garbage pickup day).

I started watching Pride & Prejudice (Keira Knightly version). I'm not even halfway through the movie and I'm not really liking this version. I keep thinking back to the other Pride & Prejudice (Jennifer Ehle, Colin Firth) version. Well, I'll try to watch a little more this evening but am not feeling very hopeful.

This is not to say that I can't like two versions of the same movie. I like both Gwyneth Paltrow's Emma and Kate Beckinsale's Emma for different reasons (although I do have a predilection for the latter one just a wee bit more). Does anybody remember Kate when she was less famous? Like back when she was in Much Ado About Nothing? That was a fun little movie, and I loved Kenneth Branagh's soliloquy which appeared as though it was done in one continuous shot (much like they almost managed to do in U2's video for The Sweetest Thing).

Okeedokee, I'm gonna finish off my glass of wine while watching a little bit more of Pride & Prejudice...

don't hold your breath. The KK version is God awful and nothing can ever convince me otherwise.

I like the KB version of Emma, too. both versions have their place although Jeremy N is the Gwyneth version is a much more appealing Mr Knightley!

I totally agree with you. The Keira Knightly version doesn't approach the A&E version with Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth. I watched it once, but I won't ever bother again. On the other hand, the A&E version lives in my DVD collection and gets pulled out rather regularly :-)

I love Kenneth Branagh too. I think his Shakespeare pieces are just brilliant.

Happy knitting!

Sadly Keira Knightly seems to sneer a lot. Never thought of Lizzie as a sneerer. I watched most of it, but it doesn't touch A&E version

Marie, my shade of green is sadly not among your Peru candidates. :-(
It's the kiwi green. Thansk for checking tho'!

ITA on P&P. The BBC version remains the standard. I have it Tivo'd and when there is nothing else on & I want to knit & watch TV, on goes the old P&P.

Have to agree, love the A & E version but I have the KK cd as well. Donald Sutherland is excellent.

Marie,

Totally out of the blog loop. Gosh you have lots going on now, what with the house buying and selling and the hat being published and the scarf and gosh you are busy! I'm loving the hat! LOVE IT!!! I also love the pics of the sweater and the poncho for M. I'm sure that she will love it!
